The Golden State Warriors closed it all out last night in Game 5 to defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers, and become 2017 NBA Champions.
The final score was 129-120. Kevin Durant played like a Warrior, and finished with a career-high of 39 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. Stephen Curry added 34 points, 10 assists, and 6 rebounds. Andre Igudodala, the 2015 Finals MVP, contributed with 20 points.
At the start of the game Cleveland was more aggressive and were leading 41-33 in the second quarter, but Golden State responded and took a 45-43 lead midway through the frame.
Golden State went on a 16-2 run which helped them come on top by 17 points.
Cleveland responded, by winning the third quarter 33-27 to cut thee Warriors’ lead to five.
Towards the end Cleveland could not keep up, and Golden State’s defense was aggressive. Not to mention their weapon of mass destruction, Kevin Durant, played a huge role in their big win.
